AUCKLAND RACING- CLUB. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August G. At the annual meeting of the Auckland Racing Club the HOll. E. Mitchelson presided. The annual report of the committee stated that during the past season the usual four meetings of 13 days weio held, and, notwithstanding the fact "(hat a reduciion of i'lols was mado 111 the value of the stakes given (£>O,GSS). each of the meetings was most, sitccesstul. The totalisator investments amounted to £195,561, as against £'150,117 last year, an increase of £18,747. Tlie profit in tlie four race meetings—viz., spring, summer, autumn, and winter,—after deducting all expenses of every character, totalled £423G IC3 lid, which, after writing off the whole of tho defalcations account (£2412 2s Id), 10 per cent, depreciation {£"959 17s lid), and providing a reserve fund against doubtful accounts (£150), leaves a balance of £764 lGs Sd to be carried to capital account, a result which should be gratifying to the members.
DUNEDIN COURSING CLUB. Next Friday and Saturday at the Forbury Park the above club will conclude the season bv running a Ladies' Bracelet. Sapling, and Open Stakes, for which record entries have been received. All the champion dogs of Nov; Zealand sre competing, so that the sport to bo witnessed should prove exceedingly exciting and attractive. Jlr W. Henderson. the custodian of Forburv Park, states that the plumpton and the hares aro in excellent (rim, so thai the fascinating snort of coursing will be seen under tho verv bc-t conditions, and should attract record attendances. Tho draw and call-ovcr take place at 7 o'clock on 'Wednesday evening at Pollock's Billiard Rooms.
