Probably tho delay w due to tho death of the late Premier, as tho Ministers would have very little timo to attend to theso ujaiiera.
Tlio season so far has been remarkable for the mild, almost spring-like weather. There is still a certain amount of growth on the lov.-lying, sunny country, but there is every appearance of s, change now, as llio snow is about, and frosty weather is almost certain to come in. The stock will be tUjlo to pull through now, as the winter is well advanced. Tlie arguments for the continuation of Ilia Otago Central line, as put forward here, would almost convince anyone a 9 to tho desirability of pushing it on at once, and it is a-great yitv that Dunedin citizens and the members of Parliament for Otago are not pulling together in the'matter l of railway construction, ko doubt the whole of the different lines ai« necessary, ( but it will affect, .lio three lines if those interested in their extension are not
