ROAD BOARD MEETINGS.

The regular "monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road- Board was attended by Messrs

Walker ' (chairman), M'Cimiy, Black. M. Robertson, and Y,'. Robertson. Mr Duckworth asked (lie board- for a grant of metal for the -road leading, to his property—lt was decided to grant X 2 yards of metul for the toad where requested. Mr R. Inglis asked that the' surfaceman be allowed to remove the sand from the road leading to his properly, ami it was decided to grant the request.

It was decided that Mr M'Kendry be allowed to go ou with bis contract of quarrying and breaking 150 yards of metal at 3s .Id per yard. i.'ig to £31 2s were passed for payment. The annua! meeting of ratepayers in the Porlobello road district wa.s held on Monday Inst, the following ratepayers beina present: — Messrs .Tames Dickson. J. ,T. M'Csrtny, J. 11. Soeton, Macnndrew, Hillyer, Hinkley, and Porlerfield. Mr Dickson was voted to the chair. A draft of the balance sheet was read by the clerk, and was considered very satisfactory. The business of (he adjourned meeting was then taken up. Mr Dickson was ummimouslv re-elected chairman. The inspector reported re. J. T. Nyhon's read to Mount Charles, and it was resolved to repair tho gate entrance, and form a Git track across the hgoon, tit a coat not to exceed £10. The Peninsula Road Board wrote, statins that no work was to be done by the Portobello Board beyond its boundary until the Peninsula Board sanctioned the work.
