LAKE LOGAN.

TO THE EDITOR. Sit;.—l am surprised to learn, as intli. catcd in your article of this morning, that tho Ilarobur Board intends reclaiming Lako Logan. To thus blot out. the only little bit. of still water in or about tho city would bo an act of vandalism. If moro land is required, why not rubble wall from about the engine sheds to a point, on the Portobello road, about half-way between the bridge and Anderson's Bay road, nnd reclaim all at. the back tliorof? The suction dredge would be no time deepening the liarbour side of- this wall, nnd completely filling in the shore side, thus retaining the scouring area of the harbour, and mating useful, and ultimately beautiful, what is how an ever present eyesore. Be this as it may. T emphatically protest against Lako Logan being reclaimed, and hope you will colli inne to use your efforts in this direction.—l am, etc., Citizen, Dunedin, May 9.
