Mr E. E. Clowes, ol the Trustees, Executors, and Agency Company of New Zealand, hes received intimation of Ilia admission as an associate of the ?\"ew Zealand Accountants and Auditors' Association. At the annual meeting of the Licensed Victuallers' Association of Otago and Southland, held last Tuesday afternoon, Mr T. K. Harty tendered his resignation as secretary and "treasurer. The Kev. The Oamaru Middle School Committee lias recommended Mins XL Kay, of Ivgapura, for appointment to the vacant position on the school staff. The Southland Times states that Mr L. C. Jefcoate, manager of the Invercargill branch of the Singer Manufacturing Company, has received intimation of his promotion to the position of superintendent of the Dunedin branch. The Hon. James Carroll is rapidly recovering from an attack of blood-poisoning, and expects to bo about again within a day or two. The Hev. H. B. According to a Wellington e*chang« important changes are pending in the dairy division of tho Department of' Agriculture. Mr D. Cnddio, assistant chief dairy commissioner, has been offered the Chief Dairy Comlmssionership of Victoria; and Mr Thornton, dairy grader in Auckland, has also been offered un important appointment in tho. projected Dairy Department of Victoria. It is said that the recent visit to this colony of the Hon. G. Swinburne, Victorian Minister for Agriculture, is not altogether unconnected with these, offers.

The Bruce Herald reports tho death of Mrs Charlotte Bramwell Hollick, of Milton, who died en Tuesday, 21th insf., in her .seventieth year. Tho deceased, who was' born at Oswestry.
