(Received April 26, at 10.45 p.m.) In the action brought by Mr Colman (a member of the Victorian Club) against the Victorian Racing Club, claiming that bookmakers' fees should be fixed by the by-laws nnd not by the committee, and also that the fees were excessive, the courtdecided that the Victorian Racing Club had absolute power over bookmakers and had acted in a reasonable and regular manner. A TYPHOID OUTBREAK. SYDNEY, April 26. (Received April 26, at 10.15 a.m.) There are 75 cases of typhoid at the Cobar Hospital. MILITARY DISSATISFACTION. There is much dissatisfaction in military circles over the administration of the Mililarj Board. Colonel Antill recently resigned as a protest, and at a valedictory gathering he iinmea.suredly condemned the hoard. The Minister of Defence intends to obtain a report of Colonel Antill'* speech and an explanation of the presence of a number of officers at the gathering.

The refugees who voyaged to New Britain were employed in the nickel mines at Nearly (Noumea). Tliey built a boat, wherein they voyaged to New Britain, and were employed for a considerable time on German territory before the French authorities ascertained their whereabouts, POPULATION OF NEW SOUTH WALES. In 1887 the population was 1,000,000, and it has taken 19 years to add half a million.
