MORNINGTON SCHOOL.
A very pleasing function was carried out on Wednesday evening at the Momingtou School, when tho committee and staff entertained Mr and Mrs Donald Henderson at a. social on the eve of Mr Henderson's departure for Scotland. As secretary to the committee Mr Henderson has taken the greatest interest in the school and the advancement of education in the district. To mark their appreciation of his services, the committee and staff presented him with a-very artistically-en-grossed letter and. a silver-mounted walkingstick of J\'ew Zealand wood, suitably engraved. The chairman, head master, members of committee, and staff spoke in the highest terms of Mr Henderson's work, his fine spirit, and generous disposition in carrying out the many duties that fell to his office. A pleasant evening was spent, and a programme of songs, recitations, and instrumental music ww carried through. Refreshments were provided by the ladies. The engrossed letter presented to Mr Henderson was signed by all the member? of the committee and the whole of the steff.
