Clarke, K.C., the Unionist member for the City of London, in the course of his speech, uttered a warning to Unionists that Chamberlainiam tva.s imperilling their other interests, and that the country would sooner vote Home Parle than tax food. The .speech has irritated the Unionists, especially his tariffite supporters in the city.
