CHURCH SOCIAL.
A very enjoyable social of membors if tlia North-East Valley Church of Christ wsu held nt tho Christian Chapel on Thursday evening. The chair was occupied by Mj Theo. Arnold, and tho attendance was a- large one. The Chairman, in his opening speech, 3tated that the church roll was now undergoing revision, and while that revision was in operation a veij gratifying fact had been disclosed. Oi the 95 regular communicants thoi-o were Mil}' some 12 who were not engaged in active servico in somo department of church work. He congratulated the membors upon the' love wid harmony existing among them, mid tho friendly rivalry as to whoir could do most to advance the cause of primitive Christianity. The choir, under tho 'eataship of Mr It., ltoid, contributed several selections during tho evening in a verv creditable manner. Mr H. Holmes addressed those present, and an apology was received for the abscnco of Jit Joshua Mortimer, tho suburban evangelist. A votn of thanks was- passed to tho ladies who presided ovor tho refreshment department, to tho choir, and an oxtromely happy neoting closed with a- hymn and benediction.
