OAVEKSIIAM CADETS' CAMP.
The Caversham Rifle Cadets concluded their annual camp, which was held as usual on the old Emigration Barracks Reserve, Yesterday morning. There were somo 50 cadets under canvas, Acting-captain W. Gard'ner being in charge, the other officers being Lieut. ii. Li cad and Staff Sergeant-major 'fowler. A great deal of useful work was put in, parades and drill being held regularly both mornings and evenings, and on the only wet day lectures woro given to the boys in the dining marquee, iho Caversham Band, under Conductor btratton, played the boys into camp, and also were present on Sunday afternoon, and played se.ections of sacred music, The annual inspection by Colonel Robin and Major Hislop was hold on Monday evening, and a,t its close the commanding officer expressed himself as beiw particularly pleased with the improvement m drill shown by the cadets, their discipline and also the intelligent manner iu which they answered the questions, saying that they had | a fair grasp of their subjects, and their answers would have done credit to any adult corps, On Tuesday evening an enjoyable concert was heid in the marquee, several visitors being present. Items were given by Actin°captain Gardner, Lieut. Head, Sergeant Fnand Bugler' Fry (violin duet), Mr R. J. Bradv Masters W Connor and H. M'Donald, and Cadet Gooalet. Gramaphone selections were £° reeant F c " ecr (Highland Rifles), during the evening Sergeant-major Towler shortly addressed the lactf. He said he had a pleasant time in camp with them, and was glad that he was able to honestly compliment them upon both their drill and behaviour. Refreshments were provided bv Cook J. Ayres, to whom the boys made a small presentation in return for the way in which he had looked after them. "God save the King" terminated one, if not the most, successful concert ever held by the Caversham Udets. Miss Fry and Lieut. Head acted as accompanists. Tents were struck at 5 o'clock yestercjay morning,
