At Addingtoa live stock market to-day tlwre wero moderate entries of most classes of stock, but tho attendance was 'arge. Fat cattle were lower in price, especially cows Fat tombs were firmer in consequence of tho small yarding, and,tho fat sheop market was rather bettor for the same reason. Mler-o was a good domand for store sheep, there being a rise in forward lambs. Pigs of all classes recovered in price, Uio yarding being only a moderate ono. There was only a moderate demand for store cattle, and a good inquiry for dairy cows. Store Sheep.—There were about 3500 offered, of which two-thirds were lambs. There was a good salo for all classes, lambs meeting with tho most inquiry, and l there was an advance in the prices of forward lots. The chief lines sold were:—67 two-tooth evres at 17s &J, 53 at 16s 6d, 27 four-tooths at 17s 3d, 39 four and six-tooths at 10s 9d, 158 aged at 7s, and 41 at 9s 3d, GS four-tooth wethers at lGs lid, 26 four and six-tootha at lGs, 107 two-tootfis at 15s 3d, 103 at 14s lOd, 120 at 10s 3d to 13s, 87 lambs at 13s Cd, 300 at 13s, 93 at 12s Gd, 145 at 12s 6d, 140 at 12s 3d, 73 at 12s 3d, 82 at 12s 9d, 193 at 10s lid, 44G (wethers) at 10s 9d, 394 (shorn) at 10s 7d, 164 at 10s, 154 at 10s, smaller i lots ft 7s 6d to 12s fid. Fat Lambs.—There were only 1110 penned, and the short supply restlted in an advance in prices, freezers selling at ISs'Gd to 15s 9d, and one.extra pen to 16s sd. A small line was bought % ft grazier at 12s 9d, Fat Sheep.— I There was a small yarding of fat shccD, the bulk bemg.owes, with some lines of handy-weight- ivethors, and a few lota of extra prime. The sale opened firmly at the previous week's rates, and priccs kept up r:ght to tho end without thp usual drop. The range of prices was:—Prime wethors. 18s to 2fts Gd; extra, to 238; lighter, 16s 7d' to 17s Gd; prime ewes, 16s to 18s; medium, 13s 6d to 15s 6d; aged, Us to 13s; good to prime merino wethers, 13s 9d to 14s 9d; lighter, lis Gd to 12s sd. Fat- Cuttle.—'The supply of beef comprised 217 head, of which a considerable proportion were light-weight heifere. The sale was some- , what dragging, cows being especially difficult to dispose of. Tallow and Fat.—A good demand exists for' local requirements. Best tallow brings 18s to 20s; mixed, 15s to 17s; best fat, 13s to 14s; mixed, lis Cd to 12s Cd per cwt. Grain.—Oats: Oniy a very limited business is being dono for export. Several consignments arriving within tho last few days have found their way into the stores, shippers not being able to find an outlet at prices quoted, Prime milling, 2s to 2s 05d; good to best feed, Is 103J to Is lljd; damaged, Is 9d to Is lOd per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat: The , market, owing to the millers being fairly well Blocked, is practically at a standstill, only a few sales of choice wheat having changed hands. Clearing Sale.—Messrs Dalgety and Co, (Limited) report having held their fortnightly sale at tho Corporation Yards, Balclutha, on Friday, 9th inst.
