LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD.

(Pin TJimro Press Assoouiion.) CHRISTCHI'UCH, February 14, The annual meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board was held to-day. Tlie secretary and treasurer's report, stated that the board began the year 1905 with a credit balnnto of £32,939 3s 6(1, and that the cash receipts for the year amounted to £54,566 9s, making a total of £87,555 12s 6d, to which hits to bo added the estimate* 1 outstanding assets, £3434- 2s Bd, making tho total tinder the head of receipts for the year 1905, £90,979 15s 2d. The expediture on the general account for the year was £47,103 l?s 10J, and the outstanding liabilities aro £6025 8s Bd, making the total .expediture ami liabilities for the year £53,129 8s 6tl. This leaves a. surplus (including £8151 4s 2d and ££81 lis lOd renewal and insurance funds, and £281 8s 8d contractors' deposit account) at the close of tho year of £37.850 6s 2d. Therefore, after providing tor the whole of tho existing liabilities dwlucting the renewal and insurance funds and contractors' deposits which together amount to £9321 4s Bd. from the surplus of £37,850 6s Bd, the board has ;l credit balance of £28.529 2s available to provide for the contingent liability. The ordinary revenue amounted to £54,995 8s 6d, and the expenditure (including £11,647 6* 6d for 12 months' drodgine) to £45,582 14s Bd, leaving a credit of £9412 13s lOd. From tho date of its constitution in 1877 the total ordinary revenue of the board has amounted to £956,603 9s lid. and tho ordinary expenditure 1o £330.365 2s Bd, and the interest and sinking fund to £361,299 0s lid, showing for the 29 year; a surpli:? balance on ordinary revenue of £265,144 65 sd. On the other hand tho loan receipts amounted to £293,797 14s lOd, and the harbour works and dredging expenditure to £523,490 8s 7d, leaving a deficit on harbour works of £224,692 13s 6(1, which has been met out of the above mentioned surplus of ordinary revenue, letivinsr a crcdit cash balance on the 31st December, 1905, of £40,451 12s Bd. The. report was adopted.
