EVANGELISTIC MISSION.

On Sunday evening a largo and attentive audience gathered together in Caversham Hall to hear Mr C. H. Hinman, evangelist, from Auckland. His address took tho form of two important questions: "Where art thou" (Gon. iii); "Where is He" (Matt. ii). Ee spoke very forcibly on the accuracy and divino inspiration of Scripture—how that, in Bpite of higher criticism, scepticism, and infidelity, it was proving itself day by day to bo the living and eternal Word of God. The first question lie showed to be the outcome of the love of God's heart in seeking his lost and fallen creatures, and how man by nature was ready to go and to do wrong; also how sin and death by Adam's fall waa passed upon all men, but through Christ's obedience, life and immortality was brought to light. As lio spoke on the second question—"Where is Ho"—tho whole audience seemed deeply moved as the speaker described the birth, life, and death of Jesus Christ, emphasising the fact that it was Ihe wise men who sought Jesus, nod warning them that although Jesus was on the throne a Prince and a Saviour, He would soon leavo that Throne to come in iudgment on all who reject the Gospel, 'j'ip descriptions of Bethlehem and other places in the Holy Land, which the speaker visited, proved deeply interesting and instructive. Owing to the unusual interest which has been manifested in these meetings, Mr Hinman has decided to continue thetti on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of this week.
