AN IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONIST.

TO THE EDITOS. Sir,—For some time past, a great amount, of extra work has been done by the Telegraph Department so as not to interfere with the .electric tiamway system bv placing new poles, at a great height, 'in tlio main thoroughfare of the city—that is, in George and Princes streets. In the latter street (intersecting with Manor place) one of these poles, which is too thick—lft 6in square—to hold oil to, has been placed in such a position as to interfere with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic; and should a runaway milk cart, and egg cart, a Hash motorist, or even a teetotaller going homo after midnight from the lodge, unfortunately tilt against it, I wonder who would ante-up to pay the piper? It would he a misfortune: if any of the South Ward councillors should bump up against the south end " South Pole" on a foggy night after a tiresomo night listening to "his Worship tho Mayor, whose colonial-made speeches arc not so terrific in character as those which at times arc reeled off 'in Parliament by the real or only genuine Sir Joseph.—! am, etc., Puxgaiiooju, October 23.
