CITY POLICE COURT.

Mokdav, September 11. (Before Mr C. C. Graham, S.M.) Drunkenness. — Henry Lyndhurst, alias Thomas Lindsay, was. fined 5s or 21 hours imprisonment for drunkenness, and a first offender was treated similarly.—Alexander Carson, who had two convictions against him during the past six months, was convicted and discharged. An Indigent Child.—William Erio Cooper, an infant, was brought before the court as an indigent child, and application was made by t-lie mother (a young single woman) to have the child committed to the Caversham ■' Industrial School. The mother stated that the father of the child had left Dunedin, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.—Su'oinspeator Green stated that the police would endeavour to ascertain the whereabouts oi tho child's father, who should be made to contribute the larger amount towards the child's support.—His Worship committed tho child to the Industrial School, to be brought up in the Anglican form of religion,. and ordered the mother to pay os per week towards its maintenance.
