(Received Sept. 11, at 8.29 a.m.) There .were two explosions at tho Rand Powder Works, Unio'nstown, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. So far 12 bodies have been recovered, but '35 others are missing. There are scores of injured. Ten buildings were reduced to matchwood, and buildings were wrecked for an area of a milo. Windows were broken seven' miles away.

A grain elevator.at Chicago, containing a million and a-half bushels of wheat, was destroyed by fire. - The damage is estimated at a million dollars.
