CASUALTIES.
(Frou Our Own Correspondent.) GORE, February 16.
An old man named W. Reinke mot with •a fatal accident at Waikaka Valley yesterday. While harvesting hay he fell from the top of the load, dislocating his spine. Paralysis quickly set in. and the man succumbed at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
A man named John Thompson was brought to the Hospital yesterday morning. It appears that the man. who was a ganger working near Waikouaili, was on a trolly, when he was run into by a train, with' the result that he sustained a broken leg. Ihe fraoture is not a serious one. The Waimate correspondent of tho Oainaru Mail states that Mr James Scott, jvho was run over by a horse drill at Waikakaln on Wednesday, died tho same night irom the injuries received.'
