PICNIC.
WILLIAM NEES & SONS (LTD.). The annual picnic of Messrs W. Nees and Sons' employees was held at Hinchley's Bay, Otago Peninsula, on Saturday, 11th, the pleasure-seekers being conveyed to their destination in drags. The day proved an ideal one for an outing, the drive along the road by the water side being greatly enjoyed. Jlessrs Kces Bros', fine motor yacht Lozier was kindly placed at the disposal of the company for the day. and proved quite a feature of the gathering, being kept busy running short trips with parties of appreciative excursionists to the various bays and inlets of the harbour. The following are the results of the sports: — Apprentices' Race.—Robinson 1, Torrance 2, Factory Handicap.—Pomeroy 1, Townsend2. Harried Ladies' Race.—Mrs King 1, Mrs Pomeroy 2. Married Men's Race (first prize presented by Mt C. Branson).—Russell 1, Reid 2. Single Ladies' Race (first prize presented by Mr G-. Chisholm).—Miss Henderson 1, Miss Torrance 2. Tng-of-war, Married v. Single, was won by the married.
