PICNICS AND SPORTS.

The employees of Messrs Brinsley and Co. held their third annual picnic at Warrington on ,Saturday, ir. glorious weather. Thanks to this' iact, allied' to the untiring'zeal of-Sir A. E. Jefferson as secretary, aided by .1 small but energetic committee, everyone present '.spent an enjoyable day. At the close of the day.'s programme Mr JcSerson, in a few appropriate words, thanked the firm for their liberality, and expressed, the wish that the cordial relations that have always existed between the men and their employers would continue. Mr Brinsley, in replying, stated that the firm were always pleased to be associated "with the animal picnic, * and * as each of these had each- year been -'favoured with the same glorious weather,- it was evident that there were no Jonahs in Messrs Brinsley and Co.'s. Mr'Brinsley then presented. the successful competitors with. the trophies ' they ' had won. Three cheers for Messrs Brinsley and Bet-t and the secretary found the picnickers getting ready 'for the homeward journey. The following is the list of prize-winners:— Boys' Race.—A. Jefferson 1, H.
