THE NORTH ISLAND TRUNK RAILWAY.
(Pee United Press Association.) CHRISTCHUROH, February 13. Tho Government has decided to call for tenders for the construction of the Makatoto viaduct, on- the North Island Main Trunk railway, about midway on the uncompleted portion of the line. This viaduct, it is eonBidored, will probably be the midway pointon the line as at present standing, and when it is completed it is expected that the line will bo ready from both ends and that a connection will bo established. Tenders will bo called outside the colony as well as within its confines.
