A DARING THEFT.
(Per United Pjiess Association.) WAIHI, January 12, A sensational ancf daring, theft was committed in Filling's Stirling Hotel at an early hour this morning. The perpetrator, or perpetrators, entered the room of Peter M'lnnery (manager) and extracted tlio key of the office and s'afe, and secured from the safe £400 in gold, notes, silver, and cheques, contained in a canvas bag. Tim affaii is wrapped in mystery. The police are making investigations, but so far tlioro is no clue to tho identity of the burglar.
