M. Paul Doiiiiier, Deputy for Aisne and sx-Governor of Indo-China, who is an opponent of M. Combes, has been elected President- of the Chamber by a. majority of 25 over M. Brisson.
Domner's victory was due to the votes of tne dissident Radicals, Nationalists, and Royalists, and is attributed lo dissatisfaction at the delation in the army, the denunciation of the Concordat, and the income tax.

The Daily News says that M. Doumer may look forward to the Premiership by leaning on the support of the Right, and so avert something like a victory for the Nationalists,
