(Limited) report having held a clearing sale of stock and implements on account of Mr C. F. Watkius, Ilillend, on Thursday, Bth inst. Although the day was rough, there was a largo attendance of farmers und others, interested from the surrounding districts, and they bid with spirit for everything offered, with the consequence that a very satisfactory sale resulted. Seventyone head of 18-months to two-year-old steers and heifers brought £3 lGs; dairy cows, £7 15s. The horses, although not young, wero nevertheless active sorts, and one nine-year-o!d niaro realised £35, a six-year-old gelding £33, while aged horses brought £14 10s. The implements, harness, etc., had their share of attention, and realised splendid prices. The samo firm also reports having held a clearing sale on account of Mr John Siuclair, Gieuomaru, on Saturday, 10th inst. There was a large attendance, and a very satisfactory salo resulted. Dairy cows, although very low in condition, realised as high ss £5 10s, calves £1 19s, and yearling heifers £3; while sundries and furniture brought full market rates. The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Limited) report:—We held our usual fortnightly sale at our yards, Owaka, on Friday, the 9th inst. There was a good attendance of local farmers and others from the Cluthn, Wnrepn, and Clinton, and a good muster of cattle. Wc yarded 70 head cows, steers, heifers, and young cattle—the former realising from £G to £7 17s Gd, heifers £s'to £G 2s Gd, steers £4 10s to £5 17s Gd, yearlings (mixed sexes) £2 to £3 15s.

Habbitskins,—'The offerings at auction are still large, although the mild winter has bad its effect on the skins, and very few aro coming to hand now better than medium to good winters. All the buyers were present at the sales on Monday, and. the sale was one of the briskest of the season. Although prime winters canno l , be quoted any higher, medium quality skins showed a slight advance. Quotas tions: Best winter, IGSd to 17Jd; medium to good, 14Jd to lGld; autumn, 12d to 14d; summer, G£d to 8Acl; small, 3d to GJd; winter black and silver grey, 20d to 2 Id; mixed do, 1501 to 18d per lb. r

Sheepskins.—All tho local buyers were represented at Tuesday's sales, when fairly large catalogues were submitted. The demand for descriptions was very strong, several lots suitable for shipment realising very high prices. Quotations: fees!, merino, GJd to GJd; medium to good, 5d to lid; best halfbred, GJd to 7d; medium to good, 5d to Cd; best crossbred, OJd to 7d; medium to good, 4Jd to 6d per lh; butchers' green crossbrcds. 4s Gd to 6s Gd; do halfbreds, 5s to Cs 8d each. Hides.—There was an excellent demand for all classes of hides at the sales held on Thursday last. Fairly large catalogues were submitted to a 'full attendance ot the trade, and prices all round showed a slight advance on those lately ruling. Quotations: Extra stout OX, 5d to 6Jd; good heavy ox, 4Jd to 4Jd; medium, 4d to 4i]d; best cows', 4jjd to 4£d; good medium weight do, Bjd to' 4Jd; light, 4Jd to 4}d; inferior, 31d to 3Jd; stag and bulls', 2>d to 33d per lb; yearlings, 5s to 7s 3d; calfskins, 2s Gd to 3s; horse hides, 7s Gd to 10s each.

Tailow and Fat—Supplies have been smaller than usual, and ell reaching market is at ones secured by local manufacturers at the following values:—Best tallow, 18s to 19s per cwtmedium, lGs to 17s Cd; bast fat, 15s to 16s Cd: mixed. 12s to lis.

Grain —Oats-The market lias boon quiet during the past- week, with a, very limited inquiry for good export lines, SJtccks on hand are not large at this season of the year, and anything like steady export business "would readily absorb tho bulk of tho prime "A" and "B'' oats on offer locally. For medium quality there is not much inquirv. Quotations: Primo inil.ing, 3s 7d to Is Sd per bushel (sacks extra); good to best feed, Is 5d to Is Gd; inferior to medium, Is Id to Is 4d. Wheatv-No sales of any importance have been passing, buyers of all sorts preferring to keep out of the market. Late reports from London, indicating that values aro likely to remain firm, have had asteadying cffect on the market, and buyers are more disposed to operate, though no sales ot any importance caii he reported. Prime milling is the only quality in favour with nul.crs, medium sorts being scarcely saleable except as fowl wheat. Jor the latter there is better demand «t quotations, which are: — Priiuo milling, 3s 7d to 3s Od per bushel (sacks extra); medium, 3s 4d to 3s Gd; best whole fowl wheat. 3s 2d to 3s 3d; medium and broken, 2s lOd to 3s id. Potatoes—Steady supplies of all soils have been coming forward. Best Derwcnts aro in moderate demand, and continue to move off at quotations, White potatoes are considerably ill over-supply, andi have little attention fiom bttvers.
