UNITED TEMPLARS' CHOIR.

A concert was given on Friday evening at the Itattray Street Oddfellows' 'Hall by tho Unitod Templars' choir and Ilntton's orchestra. Tho concert was he'd in connection with the Hope of Dtinedin Lodge, and was a successful ai'd enjoyable function, the hall being crowded. Bro. ihutdilands, District Chief, who occupied the chair, expressed pleasure at the first appearance in public of tho choir, which had been organised and was under the leadership of Bro. E. W. Hutton, A.N.C.M. The orchestra, ill the ilrst part of the programme played Intake's march, r.nd the choir, which numbers 40 members, sang two pieces in a manner which rellected credit ou (he careful tuition they have received. Messrs Dodds, Martin, Doiirldsoii. and Meek contributed songs, and Jliss Fletcher and Master Dodds also added to the evening's harmony. Mr Meggilt gave n fluto solo, and a comet and baritone duet by Messrs Dil jnd Dowie, and a violin solo by Miss Xordin were well received. The second port of tho programme was opened by the orchestra with "Le Guerrier,'' alter which Messrs Morton, Moore, G. Meek, and Misses Guaii and May Edwards contributed vocal items. A comet sdlo by Mr \V. Dil and a Tccitation by Mr Davis were also included in the programme.. Tho efforts of thess and the others who took part in the concert were rewauled with applause. Bro. E. W. Hutton presided at the piano, and the concert was brought to a close by the singing of tho Xational Anthem.
