CANTERBURY METHODIST SYNOD.
(Peb United Press Association.) ■ CHRISTCHURCH, November 26. f The Methodist Synod to-day recommended the Conference to set apart a suitable minister to urge -tho «!aims of .Three Kings College by lecturing on it 3 behalf throughout New Zealand. The rcnorfc of the Connexional Committee on the' Superannuation Fund was submitted for consideration. After discussion art amendment by the Bev. H. .Bull appoving practically of tho adoption of the report, but that two p'roposed branches of the fund be referred to competent and impartial experts for investigation and report, so that the result may be the adoption of suoh a well and carefully onnsideTed plan as will prove' generally and permanently acceptable to. the Church, was carried unanimously; The Rev. W. Lee was elected representative to. the Conference. The Rev. -B- H. Laws presented the report of the Connexioha". Committee of tho Sunday School Union. • • It was agreed "to recommend tho Conference to discontinue the Connexional Union unless greater colonial interest was shown. The Synod, after lengthy discussion, agreed to recommend .that the test of membership bis regular attendance at the Lord's table, and that tickets be renewed yearly, instead of quarterly ■as at present. It was also agreed to recommend that a proportion of membors of the quarterly meeting' be oWted by members of the Church, and that invitations to ministers Ibe (riven by the December quarterly meetings. \ A garden party was held at the residence pt Mr J. A. Flesher, and was greatly enjoyed. The Synod closed its session' late in the evening.
