HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
The usual meeting of the Hospital Trustees was hold yesterday afternoon, when there were present—Messrs W "Wills (in tho chair), S. Myers, J. Thomson, .1. Brown, W. Wright, and ,1, Green.
The House Committee reported that a new range had been placed.in the officers' dining-room at a cost'of £5 10s. The- (lisinfector has now been nlaced in position and fitted up at a cost'of £13 9s. A ceiling has been placed ovor (ho room and the belting cased in at a cost of £8 10s. and the disinfector and woodwork painted and thewalls have received a. coat of kalsomine. No. 4 ward, recently occupied by scarlet favor cases, has been fumigated, the woodwork varnished, and the. walls swept and lmlsomined. The Hospital employees have been reinsured at a co3t of £8 19s 3d. The walls of tho operating theatre have been washed down mid the strong room has been cleaned up and painted. The following donations have been received:—Air A. E. Douglas, Mount. Royal, Mr C. R. Smith, and Mrs W. H. and Mr Haslein, parcels of illustrated papers; Mrs Davics, toys for the ward.—The report was adopted. The Finance Committee reported that salaries and accounts for the month of September, amounting to £613 10s 9d, were examined and passed for payment, subject to the appovaf of the trustees. Tho receipts for the month of September were as follow:—In-patients, £93 14s 6d; outpatients, £7 6s; donations, £1 14s 6d; subscription box, 2s; -total, £102 17s. Tho sum of £500 had been received from the Hospital Board for payment of salaries and accounts for tho month of September.—The report, was adopted, tho Chairman remarking that they would havo a debit balanco of £265 after those accounts had been paid. Jlr Georgo Crown was appointed collector. A petition from the fivo staff nurses asking for an incroaso of salary was referred to the House Committee to bring up a recommendation. The report of the committee on the regulations for the duties of the sub-matron was submitted, and after discussion was adopted on tho Chairman's assurance that tho submatron would he recognised as second in. command of {he nursing staff.
