CASUALTIES.
(Peu United Press Association.) GIBBORNE, September 30. A -verdict of accidental death, with a rider calling attention to the state of tlio toad, was returned in regard to the death 'of Thomas Glover, aged 18 years. In tlio caso of a Maori charged with causing' tlio death of a Nativo ohicf (tlio •tolntnga case), a remand was granted until Tuesday, bail being refused.
An inquest was held at Cromwell an Monday, 21et u!t., into tlio circumstances connoctod with tsio death of Moliaol Hynes, who was accidentally killed on the Wanaka road by tho capsizing of a waggon. Neil Crawford,_ who was with deceased and was driving, in giving evidence, stated that where tho waggca capsized there was a bend in tho road of which he was not aware. When deccnscd was taken from underneath the waggon he was lying on his back, with threo bags of ooal and a bag of barley on his chest, and on these being removed bo groaned a few times and then expired. After •a. 'Icing retirement tho Jury brought in a Tordiot that deceased met his death by 'suffocation, and neglected hiffduty by giving the reins to another man.
