Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright

LONDON, September 12, (Received Sept. 13, at 9.52 a.m.)

The Hatne=s of consols is chiefly due to dear money and the growing nilwieldly bull account, particularly of purchasers, who borrowed anticipting a rise at the c-nd of the Boer war. The Financial News refuses to join the pessimists, and says it believes the depression is the result of a combination of circumstances that cannot endure. The only permanent, elements against consols are the reduced interest, the larger outstanding bulk of the National Debt, and the enlarged area- of trustee investments.
