Tho monthly meeting of directors of the nbove company, held on Friday evening,. ■was attended by. Messrs P. Oakden (chairman), W. Burnett, J. Loudon, C. Speight, E, Cotton, J. Howard Jackson, anil the. Hon. T. Pergus.-'-A large amount of routino business was dealt with.—The Engineer reported on the works'under progress, stating that tho benching was now practically finished, and the three, short remaining tunnels were being quickly pieTced. All tho. log; for the crib dam at the head works wero in .-position, and this work would he. gone on with without delay now that tho snow had disappeared. The fluming contriietow would, also, now that the weather had improved, bo able to push on with the construction of the fluming.—The board, after, careful consideration, decided tc appoint, ' by cable, on a six monthe' engagement, an electrical onjrinew of high standing, with, a wide oxperienco in high tension transmissions—namclyi Mr 8.. E. Stark, of California, U.S.A.,' this gentleman having recently held a.high position with the Bay Counties Electric Power Company, California, and other.large electric power dietributioiv companies in various parts of America.
