There were lair yardiiys and a. good attendance at the Addington market to-day. Fat Cattle.—There was an entry of 150, which consisted m-incipally of cows and heifers. Fat Sheep.—There was a large yarding, which comprised a fair proportion of prime wethers and good quality ewes, but many of the pens were filled with half fat ewes, and for theso the demand was poor, and a dragging sale resulted. Butchers and export buyers competed keenly for wethers, which maintained late rates, but in ewes there was a drop of fully Is per head. The late Jioni at which the sale concluded tended to injure the market. The range of prices was:—Freezing wethers, 10s 3d to 19s Id; extra heavy, to 20s sd; best butchers' ewes, 10s to 18s; medium, 12s Cd to 15a Gd; freezing owes, 11s 3d to IGs 9d; others, 8s 3d to 12s. The nexfday (hey held their fortnightly sale at Balclutha., at which there was a very large yarding of sheep, (he largest in fact since the opening of the new yards. There were not, however, many.cattle forward, and prices were on a par with those ruling at previous sales. Pigs were not forward in .ny number, and what few were there sold readily at values lately rilling, at this centre.—Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having held their fortnightly salo at Balclutha-. oil Friday, the 24th' inst. There was sin unusually ■ heavy yarding of sheep, every pen being occupied, nnd, although the attendance was small, the demarffl was fairly active, and neatly the whole of the entry changed hands at full current rates. A large proportion of the sheep consisted of breeding owes, mostly full-mouthed and aged, while the balance was composed of crossbred wethers and lambs. Tha demantV was chiefly for breeding owes, bilt other'descriptions also qarhe in for a fair share of attention.'
