BAPTIST YOUNG MEN'S LEAGUE.

Tlio second quarterly social of the Baptist Young Men's League was held in the Maori Hill Council Chambers on Monday eveningj and took the form of a welcome social to the. Rev. William Hay. Tho league is an association of the numerous young men's organisations connected with the central and suburban Baptist churches, its objects being social, physical, iiud spiritual. Representatives wcra present from Mosgiel, Caversham, South. Dunedin, Panovor street, Opeho North-East Valley, Kaikoroi, and Maori Hill, as well as. from the diaconaleof the Hanover Street Church, making a total of 30. On behalf of each ohib represented, a delegate extended to Mr Hay a hearty welcome, and assured him of their loyal co-operation in his ministry amongst them. Refreshments and a musical programmo by members of the league lent sociability and. variety of the prficeedings. The guest of the evening, tho Kev. Win. Hay, responded appropriately to the numerous.expressions of welcome that had been extended to him, expressing his hearty sympathy with the objects of the league and readiness to assist it in'every possible way. He believed in a robust Christianity that strove to attain to the .ideal manhood of Christ, and considered that tho Church should identify itself with the ; aspirations and 'recreations of its young people insofar as they woro in conformity with the prinoiples of Christianity.
