(Received April 28, at 8.39 a.m.) The Pretoria correspondent of. tho Morning Post (C.) states that £120,000 worth of-.condemned army stores were burned on the veldt. The town officials and others who were present, declared that at least two-thirds were absolutely sound. >' Twelve'thousand cases of tinned:meatsof good brands, bearing date April, i 902, stacked 12ft high, .were destroyed. ■ MELBOURNE, April 28. (Received April 28,.at 10.2 a.m.) Letters 'received by merchants from' South Africa state that the sale of surplus army stores disturbs the market, Hid tluit there is a'large amount of fraud sarried .on between sellers and buyers. It is alleged that stacks of oats and hay 'are sold to those "in the know," inside of which : are concealed quantities of spirits and other more valuable articles.
