FRENCH RELIGIOUS ORDERS
EXCITEMENT IN FRANCE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, April 15. (Received April IC, at 4,50 p.m.) Refusal of authorisation to religious orders has caused a. commotion in ecclesiastical circles in France. Several bishops, in defiance of the Concordat, which forbids the introduction of politics into the pulpit, are openly patronising unauthorised friars and thanking them for preaching. A Dominican preacher in Paris compared MM. Combes, Loubet, and Waldeck-Rousseau to Judas, Herod, i\ud Pilate.
