TRANSIT DUES. WORK FOR THE BOERS. THE NATAL JIILITIA. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CAPETOWN*, April 15. (Received April 16, at 4.50 p.m.) With a view to semiring free admission of Natal goods pending the ratification of the Customs Convention, Natal is reducing transit dues on imports for the Transvaal from 3 to 1' per cent. The Cape abolishes transit duty on the 24th inst. ; • April 16. (Received April 16, at 10.22 p.m.) The Transvaal after the beginning of June, will cease supplying burghers with rations, implements, and stock on credit. The destitute will bo offered cmploy&ent on public wprks.
The Natal Government proposes to borrow four millions to expend on the construction of railways and harbours.
The Natal Government lias introduced a, bill compelling Natalians between the ages of 17 and SO to serve in the militia.
