I o . Wednesday, April 15. (Before ilassrs C. Duke and C. Hedge, J.P.) Theft.—Joseph liucldcy was charged with stealing one bottle of ale. valued at Is, the property of George Neal, from the Provincial Hotel.—Accused pleaded " Guilty."—The evidence showed that the man went to the hotel about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and asked for a glass of slip.iiclygalT, when he picked up tho bottle of beor and ran out of the house, drinking the beer before ho was arrested.—The Bench ordered the accused to pay a fine of £5, or, in default, to undergo a month's hard labour; Truancy Cases.—John M'Pherson was charged, on the information of John E. Ryan, truant officer, with neglecting to, send his children, Muriel and Lnchian, to school eight times during the weeks ending March 6 and 20.—The Bench inflicted a fine of 2s in each of tho four cases.—Mary Caple, _ for neglecting to send her son William eight times to school during March 13 and 20 was fined 2s for each offence.—Sarah Green, John Young, KUen Steele, tivA George Smyllie were each lined 2s for similar offences,
