MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The ■ quarterly, meeting of the Hoyal Oak Lodgo No. 3, U.A.0.D., was held in the lodge room, Caversham, on Monday evening, there being an exceptionally large attendance of.memb:rs and visitors'from other lodges, (he attraction liemg the installation of P.A. Bro. Briggs a3 District President of No. 2 District. To colcbratc the evcr.t a "pound night", was held, and a very enjoyable evening was spent by the brethren, Official visits were paid by the Enterprise ( and Pride of Morning-, ton Lodges. .^ll' was decidcd to remove ,to (lie-" new lodgeroom at the Kew Primitive Methodist Schoolroom, Cargill road, where'the next meeting will be lield. Great satisfaction was expressed by the brethren nt the progress the lodge was making, 10 members being initiated this quarter. After the lodge 'business was disposed of Y.D.CI.P. Bro. Kellctt installed I'ro. Briggs into the position of District President of No. 2 District; the ceremony being.'perforated in an impressive maimer. Bro. Briggs, in responding, thanked the. lodges in No.. 3 District for the honour conferred upon him, and stated that it would bo in's ai'm. to fulfil the duties of his offico with credit to. himself and also, to the lodges under his jurisdiction.
