Rifleman Hyde is well known as the champion of last year.

Shanks, of Gore, who is the third placed man, joined the Gore Kifles in 1886, and from that date his shooting career practically commenced. This is his sixth year in attendance at association meeting's, and last year ho wns twentieth" in the aggregate. In 1899 he was second in the aggregate at the Huahine rifle mooting at Wobdvillo, and in Southland, ivhich is his home, h? won tho district medal for three years.
