SOCIAL AT PALMERSTON.
' On.Thursday evening the young ladies of Falmeraton met in the Oddfellow's' Hall to bid farewell to Mr Alexander Robertson, who is taking, his departure for Koikaiira, to which' place he hasbeoaprornoted. During the- evening Mr Dean .(postmaster), on behalf of the gentlemen present, presented -Mr Robertson with a handeonio silver-mounted cigaretteholder and tobacco pouch, Mr Dean, in mak-, ing. the presentation icferred to tho recipient's godd-qualities by saying that no lar as he know he had always bean a painstaking, punctual, and trustworthy officer. Songs were- sung during the evening by Jf-;;- :i. ; . Barclay, Young, Morrison,. Moody, and j '.svtsm.
