MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The Alliance Lodge, 1.0.G.T.. held their usual weekly, meeting in the Friendly Societies' ITall, South Dunedin, Bro. George Thompson, C.T., presiding. Tho attendance was excellent, and many present spoke on the good of the order. After business, linrniony was. indulged in, tho following contributing:—Sis. .P. P. ■\Ventworth (piano solo), Sis. Stcadiiian (Scotch recitation), Sis. IWlunds, Bro. }V. Kuston, H. White, G. Newton (songs), Bro. j S. Stubbs and G. Thompson (duct). The vote to the visitors wns responded to by Bro. | Breeze (Pioneer), Bro. Caddie (Hope of Dun- ' etlin), and Sis. Andrews (Dawn of Victory, ! Outram). : The Hope of Dunlin Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held p.n open musical evening in their lodge room (Oddfellows' Hall, Rattiay street) on Friday evening, Sis. P. Clark, C.T., presiding. There was a good attendance of members and friends. ! The following contributed to the programme:— ' Pianoforte solos, Sis. Stephenson; songs. Sis. ! Johnston, Bro. Nisbet (2), Bre. Osborne (2), ' and Mr Pullet; recitation, Sis. Gemmell. Mr Fuller also contributed several selections on the mandolin. Sis. Stephenson played the accompaniments. The programme was concluded by the singing of" God save tho King."
