PERSONAL NOTES.
The friends of Mr Andrew Blair, Abbotsford, Green Island, will bo glad to learn that he has successfully passed his examination, for master's 'certificate at Glasgow. A Wellington telegram states that the Misses Rawson, daughters of Sir Henxy Rawson, Governor of New South Wales, arrived there yesterday by the Mocraki on a visit to New Zealand. There wore two omissions in the telegraphed list of Otago candidates who passed tho junior civil scrvice examination—namely, No. 108 William James Craig, and No. 270 Eobert Eobertson. Both, are of Palmcrston, and this fact no doubt misled the compiler of the telegram in Wellington, who doubtless concluded that Palmcrston North was meant. A number, of well-v.-ishors of Mr E. Kerr, who has been selected a member of tho New Zealand Band, which leaves for England thia month, havo forwarded to hiin in Wellington a handsome travelling bag with his name inscribed thereon as a mark of their esteem. A letter has also been forwarded to Mr Kerr by the donors wishing him every success,_ and assuring him of a hearty reception ou his return. Mr Kerr mi a prominent member o£ tho Kaikorai Band.
