A LOCK-OUT AT AUCKLAND. EFFECT OF AN ARBITRATION COURT AWARD. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 4. As a result of the recent award of the Arbitration Court raising the wages of cabinetmakers to Is 3d an lioui, all tho cabinetmakors in Auckland have been loeked out, the five firms who employ cabinetmakers having agreed to take this course. Tliey state that -they are determined to employ no cabinetmakers on the terms; awarded by the court, and will import all the furniture required for their business. Over 100 men have beon loeked out. THE RABBIT TRAPPERS' UNION. A special meeting of tho Otago and South- . land Rabbit Trappers' Union was held in Mr J. ,1. itamsay's office yesterday afternoon, when a resolution was passed deciding on registration under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act of 1900. The secretary (Mr Espie) was instructed to order 500 books of rules from tho printer. Mr R. Ferguson was electcd president, vice Mr J. Harris resigned, and it was decided to affiliate with the Trades and Labour Council of Otago. Messrs A. Espie, T. Cowling. C. Hanlon, and 11. Hands were clccted delegates to represent the union on the council. The roll of the union now contains the names of over 250 financial members, and additional members are joining • daily. . i
