Tenders will he received up to the 23rd day of MARCH for the Purchase of the Property of the Cromwell Proprietary Gold Mining Company (Limited), situated at Bendigo, near Cromwell. The Mining Licenses comprise 222 Acres.of Auriferous Country. A small portion-only has been worked, which yielded gold estimated at £500.000 in value. On the Mine several shafts have been sunk, the main working shaft is 530 ft in depth, and a low-level tunnel has been driven about 370 ft to intersect the Lucknow, Amoru, 8)k1 Cromwell main lode at a depth of about 550 it. There are about 21 miles of water races, with dams, etc.. and water rights for 21 Government heads, which give ample power to work the Mine, Batteries, etc., on an extensive scale at a minimum cost. On the Mine there is a Crushing Battery of 20 heud of stamps, with tables, berdans, etc., complete. At the main shaft there is pumping and winding machinery capable of sinking to 1000 ft, driven by a Pelton wheel; also, aircompressor, rock-drills, 15 h.p. steam engine, tubular boiler, dynamo (with electric .light installation over the Mine), and blacksmith's shops (with tools of every description); also, manager's and men's houses and substantial buildings covering all machinery.
