THE BANK OF ENGLAND ALARMED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, March 1. (Received March 2, at 8.50 a.m.) The Bank of England is alarmed at the London County Council's expenditure, and lias declined to advance a loan of five millions, offering two millions only. Various schemes which were contemplated by the council have consequently been abandoned.
