WELLINGTON, March 2. A survey of the steamer Penguin show.? that some of her plates have been more or less damaged, end it is probable that thren or four will-nave to bo replaced. The magisterial inquiry will oommeneo to-morrow into the oircunwtanoce connected with the Penguin's .recent grounding near Joclcson's Head. The Merino Department intends to proceed fl/t once with the work of raectinst a light at this epot. A light would have been installed some time ago had tho Hinemoa been available for the work, but she has of kte bam uiiderffoins extensive repairs.
