HARRIERS' RUNS.

The Dunedin Harriers to the number of about 30 held an enjoyable run.on Saturday afternoon from St. Clair Baths. Messrs Callan and Duthie were despatched as hares, and their traii, which was an excellent one, was laid over the hills; first along the sea coast, then inland towards the Industrial School, and home via the quarry and- the paddocks adjacent to Eorbury Racecourse. The pack, led by the captain, maintained a steady pace throughout, for which those who are training for next Saturday's road race were grateful. The country traversed is as good as there is about Dunedin for the purpose of a harrier ruu, and therefore the Dunedin Harriers always look forward to the St. Clair outing. The Y.M.C.A. Harriers held their second run from Green Island on Saturday, having an attendance of 17. The weather was exceedingly pleasant, though perhaps just a trifle warm for running. Messrs D. Love and H. Kenning were hares, and laid a fairly long trail, covering about 10 miles. The trail led over to Green Islaud Beach, along the sand, over towards Saddle Hill, round by the coal mine, and home along the railway line. The "pack was under the control of the' deputy-captain, and maintained a very good pace throughout, managing to gain a few minutes on the hares. There was no final ■sprint, the whole pack keeping together, till the end of the run. The club was afterwards very generously entertained 1 by Mrs Love, for whom cheers were given before leaving. Next Saturday the harriers will be the guests of Mr John Wilkinson at Nevada.
