CLUTHA VERSUS STIRLING.
TO THE EDITOR. • . Sip.,—l would readily apologise to Mr George R. WCotcott, Stirling Hotel, if I could understand why he should be angry with me for saying that ho was making a fortune out of Clutha customers. But frankly I cannot understand Jus anger (if, indeed, hn is angry, or only making a pretence of being so). He does not deny the soft impeachment,—why should he? It may be the case, as he avers, that drouthy cronies can get drink in Balclntha, but evidently they prefer, like law-abiding citizens, to walk to Stirling and get it there, without fear of spies or police. And so we find once more that it would be an ill wind which blew nobody any good.—l am, etc., August 29. William Hutchison.
