The postage on letters for Australia has been reduced to one penny for each half-ounce or fraction thereof. Newspapers for tho Australian States (except Queensland, which is Ad to every 2oz), one penny each. 'J'he public are reminded that tho postage on newspapers for the United Kingdom, Queensland, mid foreign countries is IS for tho first 4oz, and Jd for each additional 2oz; and unless newspapers aro fully prepaid tho department cannot guarantee to forward them by tlio quickest routes. *
