The Objects which the Bill i 9 intended to i e.icct are as follows:— l. To empower tho University of Otago and the persons for the time being acting as or being respectively the Chancellor, ; the Vicc-Chancellor, the Professor of Physiology, and the Professor of Path- , °'°gy of the said University, if they shall think /it so to do, to renounce and release a legacy of One Thousand Pounds appropriated by tho Will of the late Frederick Jeffeoat, of Dunedin, i Medical Practitioner, dated the tenth day of January, One Thousand Eight i 'i Eighty Throe, for establishing a Scholarship or Bursary to be competed for by Students of Medicine attending the said University, and to renounce- and release all interest 'in rospeet of such legacy, and all claims : and demands On account thereof. ! 2. To cnablo such renunciation and release to be by a Deed Poll expressed to be made under the powers conferred by such Act, and scaled by the Council of . tne University with tho Common Sea!
