CHRISTCHURCH, July 2, At a meeting o'f tho New Zealand Trotting Association to-niglit the explanation forwarded by tho secretary of the Wairarapa Trotting Club regarding the acceptance of Honey II was accepted. A communication was read from the velliugton Trotting Club regarding the. Sweet Marie case. The recommendation of the' Wellington Trotting Club that the disqualification for life imposed upon W. G. Yates should be removed was not acccded to. The Auckland Club wroto enclosing a declaration from J. Chadwick regarding tlie horse Nobby, supposed to be Weulock. It was stated that the stewards of the club were still making inquiries, and it was decided to leave the matter over until.the Auckland authorities had received and forwarded replies as to the whereabouts of the ho™ Nobby, and to thank the Auckland Trotting Club for the trouble it had taken,The alleged- Major Robin—Fancy Free . case was again held over for further inquiry. The Chairman drew attention lo the proposed rule to be submitted to tho Trotting Conference to the effect that all clubs must register under the Unclassified Societies' Act. Ho had ob lained a legal opinion on the question, which dcclivvod that it was unlikely that-such clubs could bo registered," inasmuch as r.o. member ot the club winning a race could take nrizes.
