(Pep. Uxited Pnnss Association'.) HAWKRA, July 2. Tli3 Licensing Committee sat to-day, the member who was absent yesterday putting in an appearance, his absenrn was unavoidable. 'l'iie application by (J. Mnir for a license at Eltham was refused on the main ground that tho premises were not suitable. Mr Hawkins's application for a hotel license at Ellham, tojnako a vacancy for which' a litieense at Normanby. was dropped, iwas granted, tho committee being of opinion that the overwhelming evidence was that more hotel accommodation was wanted at the former place.
